A global pass requires everyone to have an app

I purchased a global pass for 4 people. I installed the app on my phone, but I was only able to activate my pass. Does each person need to have their own app?

You can have all passes on one phone if you want. Under My Pass, you can add as many passes as you want. It does mean that you cannot travel separately.

It is however not advisable to activate a pass or a travel day in advance.

In some ways there can be an advantage to having all passes on one phone, but there’s a significant downside in the situation where you have to scan your code on a reader to get through gates.  You will spend a lot of time going back and forth through the app, selecting the first pass, showing the code, scanning, passing the phone back, teaching the next person how to select their pass, displaying their code, scanning through, etc . . .

Now, picture this at a barrier in a busy station at rush hour when you have 2 minutes to get everyone through and on to the platform.

Unless someone has a serious phone issue it will be much easier all round for everyone to have their own pass on their own phone.
