Booking Reservation for Eurostar Trains

I am making seat reservations with my Eurail pass for a trip from Paris to Amsterdam on the Eurostar Speed Train. I went onto raileurope.com and selected date and time and it shows the trains available at a charge of EU32 each.

On Eurostar’s webpage, they say the only way for Eurail Global Pass holders to reserve seats on their train is through Interrail at EU34

My question is, why does Eurostar say that I am ONLY able to book a reservation through Interrail?

Hi, I would like to find out how I reserve a seat if I have a Eurail Global Pass From Paris to Amsterdam

To reserve a seat with your Eurail Global Pass for travel from Paris to Amsterdam, follow these steps:

  • You need to book your seat in advance and pay a seat reservation fee.
  • Reservations are required for Eurostar trains, and availability is limited, so book as early as possible to secure your travel date.
  • For this route, you can travel in Eurostar Standard (2nd class) or Eurostar Plus (1st class), depending on your pass type.

To enter your Eurail Global Pass details for a seat reservation on a Eurostar train, you will need to make the reservation either:

  • Online: Visit the Interrail reservation page to book your seat and enter your Eurail Global Pass details during the reservation process.
  • By phone or at specific stations: You can also make reservations by contacting the international counters at NS, SNCB, or SNCF stations, or by calling the Eurostar contact center at +33 8 25 84 25 97.

Can I reserve seats through raileurope.com

No, you cannot reserve seats for Eurostar trains through RailEurope.com. Eurail and Interrail pass holders must book seat reservations through the Interrail system. Reservations can be made online, by phone, or at specific stations (NS, SNCB, or SNCF).

This is incorrect. You can book reservations wherever you want. This has always been the case.

My question is, why does Eurostar say that I am ONLY able to book a reservation through Interrail?

I have no clue. Maybe the writer of that text just doesn't know.
