Can a group of people be added to a (free) travel pass, or do they have to buy their own?

Hi! My friend was just given a free interrail pass and a group of friends have decided to join her (including myself) this summer to do some travelling around Europe. I’ve heard that groups can be added onto her pass but I can’t find any information about this on the website, will the rest of us be able to travel with her pass or will we need to each purchase our own? Apologies if this is a silly question, I just thought it would be better to ask before proceeding in case the rest of the group may be able to save some money. Thanks!

I'm not sure what you mean by "groups can be added onto her pass”.

Each person will need their own pass, either the free one or one you buy.

For mobile passes, you can store more than one on the same phone. But that also means you'll always need to travel together.
