Hello!

i have a Mongolian passport with Austrian residency permit, i currently live in Austria. Can i choose to go with Eurail instead of Interrail? On the site it says: “If you are not a European citizen, but you are an official resident of Europe, you can also use an Interrail Pass.” so i think i can choose between them right? But there are a lot of people who said you can’t choose so I am a bit confused.

The information given by Eurail about this topic (non-Europeans who are temporarily living in Europe) is confusing and often contradictory.

From what you’ve said, I believe your country of residence is Austria, and therefore you must choose an Interrail Pass.

However, if you can find official information that offers a more generous interpretation, then I think it’s fair to rely on it.

I don’t see that specific wording (“you can also use”) anywhere in the Conditions of Use. Do you have a link?

If you were just travelling as a Mongolian citizen, without residing in Europe, then you could choose between Interrail & Eurail.
