I’m planning on going to bologna on monday. the suggested time in munich is too short, so i want to take one train to munich very early, and then take one from there to bologna.

i have to create two trips for that, is that fine or would the first one ( hamburg-munich) already count as inbound ?

What you create are 2 journeys. Your Interrail pass can only be connected to one Trip. To this Trip you connect all trains (journeys) that you travel with. There is no limit how many journeys you can make during one travel day.
