My rail planner app is telling me I'm offline, when I'm not, and won't let me access my pass. I also cannot add a new trip to my pass

You can only have one Trip added to your pass. All journeys have to be connected to the same Trip.
If the network is weak the app might not work well. Try to put your phone in airplane mode and see if it works better.
Please ensure that you have a stable internet connection when you activate and set up your pass. In addition, please check that your device timezone is set to “automatic” as this might interfere with pass functionality.
