Confused about Interrail Erasmus Pass Activation and Reservations

Hi everyone!

I have a few questions about the Interrail Erasmus Pass that I couldn't fully figure out just by checking the website, so I’m hoping someone here can help.

I’ve bought the Interrail Global Pass (4 travel days in 6 months) with the Erasmus discount, and I can activate it starting from September 1st.

My first doubt is: Can I already book seat reservations now, before activating the Pass? For example, if I want to travel in mid-September or even later, can I reserve those trains in advance and activate the Pass only right before my first trip?

Second question: since this Pass gives me 4 travel days, how exactly do I use the second travel day? Let’s say I travel on September 4th for the first time, and then again on December 20th – what do I need to do to prepare for that second travel day?

Thanks in advance!

A pass must never be activated for making reservations.

The second travel day is used in the same way as all travel days. You activate the first journey of the day just before you board the first train of the day.

If your first travel day is the 4th of September, then you last possible travel day will be the 3rd of March 2026. Note that if you choose to travel on the last day of the validity of the pass, in this case the 3rd of March, then you cannot travel after midnight using the pass.
