Hi I am planning a trip that goes Paris-Barcelona-Geneva-Amsterdam-Paris on the inter rail 7 days in 1 month pass. My home country is France and I am intending my outbound and inbound to be the Paris legs of the trip. But, I see that Barcelona-Geneva, and Geneva-Amsterdam all have transits through Lyon in France. Would each layover count as an inbound trip even though I am not intending to travel back to France but as a layover to another country? Would I be able to use the inter rail global pass for this trip?

You have to pay for transit through France once your inbound and outbound trips have been used. You can get from Geneva to Amsterdam without going through Paris by going via Germany. You would then still have to pay for the transit when you're going from Barcelona to Geneva.
