Hi, We are getting a 15 day in 2 month pass for a family of 5, 48, 47, 18, 15 and 15. Just wondering peoples thoughts as to whether the 1st Class pass is worth it compared to the 2nd class pass (about 25% more expensive). Will be travelling through December and January

I personally wouldn’t get a first class pass, when traveling with the whole family, while I would consider it being on my own.
1. because it elevates travel cost quite a bit. I’d prefer spending the money in my destination.
2. as a group you can usually sit together, so no need to have a single seat, which I enjoy when traveling on my own, when the train is full.
If you already know where you are going, you can look up the perks: in some countries you get free food and drinks, in others the only difference is the color of the seats
