So we arrived in Barcelona from Nice today. We decided to make better use of the travel day pass and go into downtown and back before midnight. We took a train out of Barcelo Sants train station. We needed to get off at the first stop. A few issues. The train numbers didn’t match up with our pass and the wickets wouldn’t recognize our QR codes, we ended up following people through. Do our passes work for those local trains? Thx for any help.
Which train did you take ? Cercanias train should be included.
However QR-codes from Rail Planner rarely work on gates (only in the Netherlands as far as I know). You have to ask staff to open the gates for you, there should always be someone around.
Schedules are also rarely up-to-date for those trains on Rail Planner. Add the journey manually.

The train numbers on my planner were nothing like the numbers on the board for the local train. The train we were on appeared to be for local city use. Our train time or numbers didn’t match anything on the board. We just asked locals what train to get on. Cheers.
