Hi, my family is planning a trip in summer 2022. Since Eurail pass has 11 months after purchase to activate, can I buy a 10 days 2 months pass now (July 18 2021) and activate before June 18 2022 and use the pass till Aug 17, 2022?

Correct thats an option but you may wait for a Promotional offer (usually after summer, Christmas/New year and sometimes in spring :) )
Promotions can be a discount or a free upgrade for first class ;) and some other options
I would purchase the Eurailpass atleast 1month before you trip starts (enough time to wait for a promotion offer :) )

Thanks Seewulf. Currently the special is upgrade to Plus. Sounds like better promotions may be available given we have lots of time before our planned trip.
