if i the validity of my Eurail pass is until 22 December and I board a train that departs at 20:00 on 22 December, which is due to arrive at my destination at 03:00 AM (next day on 23 December), can i still travel on Eurail pass or i need to buy a separate ticket for the last journey?

As the pass is valid until 23.59 CET on the last day of the validity, you need to buy a separate ticket for your last journey, or rather from the last station that the train departs from before midnight if that is possible. What route will you be travelling?
That's not possible. Pass validity ends at 23:59 CET on the last day of validity. You'll need an extra ticket from the last station before midnight.
