Your pass is a valid ticket for all Norwegian trains (Vy, SJ-Nord, Go-Ahead,...), you only need to get a seat reservation on www.entur.no for long distance trains (=Regiontog and nighttrains, nattog).
Vy busses are not included
Thanks
Apologies as I wasn’t very clear on what I was asking.
I will be catching a Vy train from Myrdal to Bergen (Norway) but wont be using my Eurail pass as there are other more expensive trips where I will use the pass.
So, if Vy offer discounts for Eurail passholders, can I access those discounts without using a trip on my Pass?
If so how?
Thanks
Vy doesn’t accept any other discount that are Eurail/Interrail related, as you have full acces to all of their trains with a valid travel day with your Interrail/Eurail pass.
The only thing extra you’ll need when travelling with your pass, (second class) is a small sum for a seat reservation on long distance trains and nighttrains. 1st class is free of charge for a seat reservation. Which you can get via www.entur.no
The only other train you can get a discount for is the Flåmsbana ( Flåm-Myrdal), since your pass isn’t valid on that line. Tickets for the Flåmsbana must be purchased locally in Norway at any manned train station or by calling the VY Call Centre and are currently not available at vy.no or visitflam.com
Thanks BrendanDB
You wrote “The only other train you can get a discount for is the Flåmsbana”.
How do I get that discount? When I purchase tickets “locally in Norway at any maned train station” what do I need to get that discount?
I live in Australia so will be buying these tickets when we are in Norway next month.
Thanks again.
Tickets for Flåmsbana with Interrail/Eurail discount are also available through Entur. You can either call them or use the chat on entur.no.
Also keep in mind that there are only 5 ticket offices in Norway:

@ginga There’s no real need to get your Flåmsbana tickets in advance anyway, especially that time of year you’ll be going, it won’t be very busy. Just show proof that you have an Eurail pass. You don’t need to have an active travel day (= QR-code). Just show your pass that’s in use, found under “My Pass” in the rail planner app, wherever you buy the reservation.
