The pass is valid, though you must pay whatever the couchette/sleeper passholder fare is that night (dynamic).
Feel free to look at nightjet.com for random dates (adding Interrail in the discount list).

The pass is valid for all NightJet routes, you have to pay additional fees though. Seating, couchette and sleeper are all usually significantly cheaper than they would be without a pass.
