I would like to buy a 4-5 day France pass. 1 day I would like to travel from Chamonix-Strasbourg through Bern. How will that work with the pass, will I have to pay out of pocket for the entire Swiss part? Is there an easy way to go about booking that?

You have to buy a Ticket from the last station in france to Basel SBB, from there you can take the TER with your Eurail Pass to Strasbourg.

If you go from Charmonix via Martigny than you nead a ticket from Le Chatelard-Frontiere to Basel SBB. When you go via Annermasse then you need a Ticket from Annemasse or Chene-Bourg. You can buy via SBB.ch (

Or you buy a Eurail Global Pass that you can use also in Switzerland. Swiss tickets are very expensive.

80 CHF from Annemass to Basel is the standard fare.
