To receive the 25% discount on the Funicular from Interlaken to Harder Kulm do you need to book using the Eurail app or just show them your Global pass? Also, in taking the 25% discount, does this count as a travel day?

You can't book anything on the Eurail app. Buy tickets in Interlaken, they cannot sell out
It doesn't count as a pass day, they simply need to know that you have a pass

Atlought not the answer to your question, but might help. I lived here for a few years and never got the Funicular up the Harder Kulm. It’s a 2 hour hike or 3 if you get a few beers in coop at the bottom, for halfway and the top. We use to go up to arrive before sunset and come down when it’s dark with head torchs after the Funicular has finished. So there where few people up there then.
