I am so confused. I bought the Global Mobile Pass Flex. We will be going from London to Brussels to Amsterdam all in the space of July 22 to the 27. I’ve downloaded the Eurostar app, the Rail Europe app which told me that to activate my pass I need to download another app (Rail Planner) I am losing my mind. We would like to take a day trip from Brussels to Bruge. Do I need to buy yet another train ticket for this, or will the pass we already have get us on a train? And why can’t I see any kind of barcode or QR code FOR the actual Eurail Pass? When I go to the Rail Europe app I’m prompted to add go to the Rail Planner and do steps 1-3. But I’ve done that. Like I said, I’m losing my mind with this. Help, please!

hi,
do you have your app Rail Planner?
Maybe it's best to start with a general introduction to Eurail here:
In short, the pass is your ticket. If you have a mobile pass, then you need to Rail Planner app to manage your pass, add the train you want to use (before boarding) and to generate the daily QR code, which is the actual ticket.
On top of the pass you sometimes need extra reservations, such as for Eurostar. You can book reservations in many places and the best place depends on the train. A good overview is this page:
For Eurostar, the best place to book is indeed Rail Europe, although I like booking on their website better than in their app. You can show the Eurostar reservation as a PDF (print it if you want), in the Eurostar app or in the Rail Europe app.
Activating the pass is not needed in advance, and it's best not to do it, except if you want to play around. In that case, choose a start date well in the future, and cancel the activation after you're done testing/playing. Then only activate the pass on the day you start your trip.
As to Brussels to Brugge: domestic trains in Belgium don't have reservations, so you can board any train you like, as long as you add it to your pass (in the Rail Planner app) before you board.
Hello,
Yes, I do have the Rail Planner app and the annoying to g about that was every single “journey” that I attempted to add was not found so I had to manually add it. I don’t know or understand how any of the trains I booked couldn’t be found since they do exist and they have a train number. So nothing shows up on the map except the flags of the countries I’m going to be visiting. Again I do have the actual Eurostar tickets so if that’s really all I need then I guess I’m ok. I just think it’s maddening that I need all these apps for nothing.
Can you give an example of a train that you can't find in the Railplanner app?
It was one of the legs of our journey. I think one of them was leaving Brussels-Zuid for Amsterdam-Central at 19:53, arriving at 21:50. It wouldn’t show up, so I manually put it in. And then I added the last train for our journey (another manually added destination) saved it and now it’s not showing up as something that I even did. I can’t stand this app.

What date?
The date is Wednesday, July 23 2025
I'd expect the Brussels-Amsterdam trains to be in the planner. This particular train shows up next week in any case. I wouldn't use it for this journey though, since reservations are expensive (and have limited availability) and there are reservation-free trains that are almost as fast. There's an hourly train at xx:49 (weekends xx:57) from Brussel-Zuid to Amsterdam Zuid. From there, you can take a tram or metro, or you change at Schiphol Airport to Amsterdam Centraal (frequent trains).
Then it tells me to “add a journey to your pass to get your ticket.” But I’ve done that. I’ve added two journeys and I have no idea where the ticket is (unless they’re the Eurostar ones) then they’re in my Apple Wallet! It’s just so maddening.

We already have the reservation for it. I have the Eurostar ticket in my Apple Wallet. I have all the tickets in my wallet. That’s what I don’t understand. Why aren’t they showing up on this website as actual journeys? Why am I having to manually go in and add them. Like they don’t exist. It just makes me nervous.
I see the train in the Railplanner app. But travelling with that train really is a waste of money. You can leave Brussels 4 minutes earlier and arrive in Amsterdam 6 minutes later, a 10 minute longer travel, without having to pay for seat reservations.
I don’t know. I tried to add the journey from my phone and from a laptop and both said it wasn’t found and I needed to add it manually. When I get home from work I’m going to read through those websites that were linked and see if I can troubleshoot things that way. If not then I’ll come armed with a ton of paper print outs as well as mobile apps/tickets and something will have to work.

You can't add journeys in the app from your laptop.
Maybe you're expecting that the app and Eurail website are synchronised? They're not, except for the validity period of your pass. In the app, you need to add each train you'll use, as explained here:
I am so ridiculously confused right now. I think I even tried to add journeys from a laptop and had the same issue. I’m at a loss.

If you search for Brussels-Zuid to Amsterdam, as AnnaB did above, and you don't find any trains, then please check if there's an app update. Or re-install the app.
If that doesn't help, then please contact customer service:
Thank you both so much for all your help. I know it’s hard to troubleshoot when you’re not actually with the person. I appreciate all you have done and the advice given. I’ll try things from a laptop and if that doesn’t work then customer service is where I’m headed. Again, thank you so much for your help!
