I live in Italy and wish to buy a Great Britain Pass (3 or 4 days). Does the Pass include travel from Italy (1 inbound and 1 outbound) as per Global Pass?

No, Britrail is only valid in Great Britain. If you want to include your journey from Italy, you'd need the Global Pass.
