Having Trouble Getting My Booking onto the App

Hi there!

I’m travelling from UK > France > Spain in late May/June, and a family member purchased a Eurail pass for me which I’ve now loaded onto my phone but for some reason I cannot get my booking for the first leg of the journey onto the app? The family member already purchased seat reservations for us and I have the confirmation emails but that particular leg of the journey and times do not show up and there does not seem to be an easy way to add it.

Any assistance would be much appreciated!

Reservations are completely separate from the pass. You can't book them in the app and they won't show up in the app, unless you booked them via Eurail (not recommended) and are logged in on the website in the app.

The app's main purpose is to manage your pass. You need to add any train you use in your trip and, before you board a train, add it to your pass, see this page.

If you don't manage to find your train and add it to your trip, then please describe where you get stuck.

So the correct train shows up on my family members app but not on mine? There’s one a similar time a few minutes apart but dont want to add that one in case its the wrong one (plus its not the one we have booked the seats on)

Which train are you looking for? (Route, date, departure time)

London St Pancras Intl - Paris Gare du Nord 27 May 2025 10:24am

Paris Gare du Nord - Lyon Part Dieu 27 May 2025 14:59pm

Both trains are in the app.

For Eurostar from/to London, the app advances the departure time 35 minutes on some phones in a seemingly random fashion. IMO it's a bug but Eurail customer support claims it isn't. In any case, if you go into the details, you should see that extra 35 minutes and the actual departure time. The train number should also be the same.

Trains to Lyon depart from Paris gare de Lyon, so enter that or use the generic "Paris”, and then the app will take whatever station fits. If you use Paris Nord, then it will start with “transfer by public transport”.

Ah yep got it thank you, it’s definitely doing the 35 minute thing, once I clicked into it, it was fine.

So once I get on the train and show my pass, do I have to show my actual seat ticket as well (booked separately?)

Thanks for your assistance!

For trains with a mandatory reservation, you need to (be able to) show both your pass and your reservation. In some trains, the staff don't really care about the reservation, but for Eurostar, TGV and in Spain, the reservation is what gets you through the gates and onto the platform.
