I have searched trips a near as tomorrow and as far as it’s in their calendar, their system can’t find any seat available.. is this normal? (trying to reserve tickets from London to Liverpool)

London to Liverpool isn’t operated by LNER. The direct trains are operated by Avanti.
You don’t need to reserve seats, but if you want to, you can do it at the GWR website, as described here:
