i bought train tickets before activating my pass. what do i do?

I didn’t realise I had to activator my interrail pass as I already had the pass numbers. 
today I booked an English LNER train which when I checked said it accepted interrail global passes. However, when I booked it didn’t ask for the pass number. I didn’t receive any discount.

 

later on today I received communications from interrail asking me to activate my pass and download the app. When o search for the same train through the app it looks a lot cheaper.

what do I do? How do I get a refund? 
I’ve also paid for other trains before activating my pass. In total I’ve spent about £200 on top of my £450 interrail pass.

The pass is your ticket. You never have to buy tickets for trains included in the pass. Only reservations are needed/recommended for some trains. In Great Britain, all trains are included, except Heathrow Express, and reservations are optional and free of charge (except Eurostar and sleeper trains).
