I need a pass cover number to book my SCNF seat reservation online. I have made a few enquiries with customer support and have had no response and I am traveling in the next few days.

Then you'd better book via SNCF by phone. Press #85 for English, no booking fees, no pass cover number needed, reservations are sent via e-mail.
