 Good morning everyone

I bought an Interrail pass for France and I’m trying to book my first trip from Paris to Mont Saint-Michel using the Rail Planner app, but I can’t manage to do it. When I try to book, it gives me three options and I click on the first one (Eurail) but when it redirects me to the website, I don’t see my pass linked. My travel companion managed to get a bit further with the booking and she gets a message saying “No prices were found. Reservations for pass holders may be sold out...”

How can I or should I do this? It’s the first time I’m using these services

Hello @Daniele777

It is not recommended to reserve seats with Interrail/Eurail, because they add a 2€ fee. For France I recommend the site raileurope.com (not the app). Click on “Add rail pass” to indicate that you need only a seat reservation and not a ticket.

If you need more help, give us the date and time of departure.

@Daniele777

I would add something. You can only reach the Mont Saint-Michel with a bus from the station Pontorson.

You can first search possible timetables from Paris on sncf-connect.com. Be sure to search the destination “Mont Saint-Michel” and not “Pontorson - Mont Saint-Michel”. I think that only one or two connections are available. Interrail Passes are not valid in such buses.

To check pass validity on a bus, it's best to look at the planner on the TER website. If it says "Car TER”, then it's a rail replacement bus and passes are valid. As an example next weekend:

@rvdborgt

Thanks for the clarification. I found the bus schedule and it looked like a local bus:

This is a problem in France, one of the most famous tourist attractions and only a few buses each day.

This often seems to be the case: a local or regional bus where SNCF tickets are valid. I found it was similar for e.g. the bus from Bréauté-Beuzeville to Étretat.
