Hello Community,

You’ve been very helpful in the past, so maybe again.

I’m planning to travel from the continent to London and back on the Eurostar.

Unfortunately I will only know for definite late next week if I can travel. However, I need to book seats very soon as there are very few left on the days we wish to travel. If I buy my Eurorail ticket and then book the seats, I know my seat reservations are non refundable. However, if I can’t travel at all can I get the full refund for the 5 day ticket? Obviously within the 7 day limit?

Thank you in advance for your help.

Eurostar reservations are now partly refundable up to 7 days before departure. There’s a €15/20 refund fee. Will you know before then?

Yes, you can refund your pass subject to the normal refund rules. A full refund up to 168 hours after purchase, 10% fee after that. I believe Allaboard has more beneficial refund rules, so you could buy through them if you need more than 168 hours

Thank you very much - that’s very helpful.

Do you mean buy the seats through Allaboard as I assume I’ll get the actual ticket for the Eurostar via my Global pass..?

Allaboard sell passes without refund fees. They don't sell reservations.

For reservations, use this guide:

https://www.seat61.com/interrail-and-eurail-reservations.htm

For Eurostar reservations, raileurope.com is currently the best place.

The pass is your ticket, for a mobile pass it's a QR code in the Rail Planner app.

That’s good to hear!

I wouldn’t have been able to do half the European rail travel I do, without the helpful people in this community and the excellent Seat 61
