I wanted to regarding the interail outbound and inbound rules, I have a friend who lives in sweden (GOT) and is planning to meet us in copenhagen. He plans to use the outbound journey to CPH and then headback to gothenburg without using inbound journey and then continuing the travel days within sweden from gothenburg to sweden. Will there be a problem using a travel day within sweden if he used an outbound journey? (Like does the app consider him being out an issue)

As soon as you board a train in your country of residence, one such inbound/outbound day is deducted.
Whether he goes to Copenhagen or fully stays within Sweden.
Btw Sweden is part of a trial, Swedish travellers generally get 4 in/out days.

But those 4 I/O days can only be used for 2 travels, not for 4 travels, and are meant for travellers living far away from the border.

Travels within Sweden are basically not allowed, as the I/O days should be used for travels to/from the border/airport/port. The remaining inbound can be used accordingly.

You normally have 2 Inbound/outbound traveldays to exit/enter your country of residence, but in Sweden you get 4 I/O travel days to travel to and from the border/port/airport.

There might be, but otherwise, your friend can check his/her Interrail pass, or you trust me, who live in Sweden and who travelled with Interrail last week.
If your friend activates the pass, with a start date for the validity well in the future, then it is possible to check the number of I/O days. Then just deactivate the pass until the first day of travel.
But the 4 days are only allowed for 2 trips, not 4 trips.

He is gonna get out of stockholm by a flight to eastern europe and use his remaining travel days there and then use the inbound to gothenburg
Yes, that should be fine. One journey from Gothemburg to Stockholm and one journey back to Sweden.
+1As far as I know such an I/O day is valid for one day (0:00-24:00) of unlimited travel within your country of residence, of course including the railway lines to the border. With my 3 months global pass I got 3 such days (residence in The Netherlands).
So a resident of Sweden apparently gets four days of unlimited travel in Sweden. All the other days the interrail is not valid in Sweden. So for instance you can travel from Gothenburg tot Copenhagen and back the same day using just one I/O day. That’s what I did in The Netherlands, going for a day trip to Germany.
Just take care that your last train back leaves before midnight.
