Is it possible to download your pass as a pdf-file instead of a paper or mobile pass, so that the train conductor can verify it from your laptop screen without an issue?

That is not possible.
In nearly all countries that have switched-for most advanced pax-to online tickets this is explicitly NOT allowed. It would probably open wide the gates to fraud (2 people using 1 pass)

No fraud is possible if a printable PDF were created with your name and pass data on it. But that is currently not possible with Interrail/Eurail. Britrail seems to have such a feature.
