EUrail is only a name to promote train travel by the more as 100 various train companies that offer services. Most of these trains are still run by the national train companies, as was always the case ( SIN never had that, Malaysia has the KTMB). There are 100s of different train types and connections. ALL trains always offer some kind of luggage rack or whatever-in practice the last yrs most people do not even bother about that and block aisles or seats with their cases on wheels.

You ask this to want reassurance and the answer is: it will in the end always work out, but it may want some improvisations. Flexible is always better as with hard plastic scales and the smaller, the better.

The only real issue is weight and the crush around doors getting on and off - Make sure you have a plan to pass the luggage up, move it and get the next one up.

If you have reserved seats you could wait to let the others on first - you will find places to store them somewhere in the carriage - between the seats is possible on many carriages. If you don’t have seats booked then you join the bun-fight to find seats anywhere, let alone together, on busy trains,

Just think of airline cabin baggage chaos on steroids.

The same when it comes to getting off -If it isn’t the terminal station don’t wait until the train is stopped, you will find a mass of bodies queueing to get off and trying to get luggage collected impossible - Then of course you get the masses trying to get on.

So a military exercise is needed for painless travel with lots of luggage.

Our advice is to keep your luggage nearby and in line of vision. Thefts of luggage on trains are not unknown. Be very watchful at large stations. Keep valuables on your body. You are most unlikely to have problems but being prepared is a good idea!
