No, you need to activate your mobile pass on a  phone. 

What is your actual problem. Can you post screen shots?

What do you mean by "not compatible with the app”?

Does you phone meet the requirements? If yes, contact customer service and give them all details.

If you have an iPhone on iOS 10/11/12, then when did you buy your pass? If that was before 29/4/2022, then you bought it while iOS 10 was still supported and you're entitled to use it. Request a solution from customer service.

If you phone does not meet the requirements, then you can only request a change to a paper pass but that is not a solution to travel today.
