My reservations don't show up

I have already purchased my Eurail Global Pass, and it is linked to my Trip in the Rail Planner app. Also I made seat reservations for my train journeys using the ÖBB (Austrian Railways) app as I will be travelling during a busy time.  Now that I’m trying to add those trips to Rail Planner app, I noticed that these specific journeys do not appear in the search.

I want to ensure that these reserved trips are still valid under my Eurail Pass, and that I won’t encounter any issues during ticket inspection.

Could you please clarify:

  1. Is it acceptable to manually add journeys to the Rail Planner app if they don’t appear in the search results — as long as the travel matches the reservation and is covered by the pass?

  2. Will manually adding these trips ensure I’m compliant with the pass usage rules and protected from any penalties while traveling?

  3. Are there any steps I should take to ensure my trips are valid on the days I travel (e.g., toggling them into the pass for the travel day)?

For reference, trips I reserved through ÖBB are:

Trip #1

  • Date: [Dec 22 2026]

  • Train: [RJX60, RJX166]

  • From: [Budapest-Keleti to Salzburg Hbf & Salzburg Hbf to Innsbruck Hbf]

  • Departure time: [07:40 and 15:56]

  • Reservation confirmation number : [2146 5611 4452 4321 & 2422 7472 2335 3208]

Trip #2

  • Date: [Dec 24 2026]

  • Train: [RJX 865]

  • From: [Innsbruck Hbf to Wien Hbf]

  • Departure time: [11:14]

  • Reservation confirmation number : [1167 5248 8582 3263]

All these trips are reserved for 1st class and for two people including myself and my daughter.

Thank you in advance for your assistance — I just want to make sure everything is correctly set up and I’m following all the required steps.

Best regards,

Seat reservations made via ÖBB are not linked to the pass or the rail planner app what so ever. Just find your seats mentioned on the reservation/pdf you got.

The rail planner app is not always very up to date this far in advance from your travel date, probably the new timetables for 2026 (starting half december ‘25) are not fully uploaded yet. If you try to add those trains to the rail planner app a couple of days before you travel, it’ll give you the correct results corresponding with your reservations.

  1. Yes no problem. This problem will probably solve itself when the schedules are updated. It’s recommended to only add trains to your pass just before travelling, not two months in advance (I only add them when I see them on the platform)
  2. Yes no problem. As long as the train company you’re travelling accepts interrail (OBB does as do 95% of all trains in Europe) you don’t need to worry about anything.
  3. Only add trains to your pass (toggling the gray/yellow ledger from the trains saved in your trip) until you’re absolutely sure if you will (and can) take them: as said before, tap it when you see your train at the platform.
