Hi, Good day to everyone. We are a family of 3 and would be travelling to Europe in May . Our tentative itinerary includes 2 nights in Zurich, then 3 nights each in Munich, Berlin, Frankfurt and Luxembourg. I am thoroughly confused with EURAIL global pass routes . Some have said that the ticket officer has denied validity of EURAIL pass in ICE trains for intercity within Germany. Should I buy separate tickets for inter country travel and take a EURAIL Germany pass . But , that again does not include trams and buses . Also, Should I book seat reservations in advance ? I checked through this website . It said seat reservation is not mandatory. Any advice would be helpful since I have one senior person with me and it would be difficult if there are any last minute issues. Regards.
Need help with pass selection for my europe trip

Eurail is certainly valid (and good value!) in Germany. The pass is valid on all trains except the low-cost competitor Flixtrain.
Zurich-Munich is a small train and it can get busy, esp. with the May holiday weekends. Book seats.
In general it is a good idea if you want to make sure you sit all 3 together. They cost 3€ per person on ÖBB.
No need to book weeks in advance in any case.
Off topic I know but... Frankfurt isn't a particularly nice city and Luxembourg is tiny (few hours/one night is enough). Any reasons to visit those places? In May I might suggest spending some relaxing time in the Alps, even if you're not into hiking. There are some stunning railways. ;)
Trams, subways, buses only cost a few €. Suburban (S-Bahn) trains are included in Germany but it isn't good value to activate a pass day while staying within the city.
