Outbound day - one or two stops to switch trains

Hello,

I have a question about travelling in my country of residence.

My trip should start in Koeln and i wanna travel towards Strasbourg first. The best Options are one or two stop options with the ICE, where i also have to switch the train. For example: Koeln to Karlsruhe and  than Karlsruhe to Strasbourg. Would that be allowed?

Thanks in advance

Johannes

Yu can also answer me in german if you want :)

As long as all individual train journeys in your home country start within one day 00.01 - 23.59 CET then it is within the rules and will use 1 inbound/outbound day on pass.

BUT it will cost you an arm+leg to use the DIRect ICE over RHein=border-plus a hard to get RES (yes, ja, brauchste für dieses). Save money-not time-and go by SWEG tiny diesel over that bridge from Offenburg.

Or check other routes-like via Wissembourg or Lauterbourg (there may be SEV on some lines)
