I have a paper pass, if I am using a train that doesn’t require a reservation, can I just board the train?

You have to fill in your travel details in your travel diary. When it I full you can download extra pages on the website (just google additional travel diary pages interrail)

Before you board the train you must fill in the details of the train ride in the travel diary.
