Paris to Bern, rail pass or just book.

Myself, wife and kiddo are going to Paris, Switzerland and Belgium for a total of 8 days. Train from Paris to bern is about 500 total which seems about same price as a rail card for “4 days in a month.” I don’t understand what that even means. What do y’all recommend getting? Rail card or just booking as we go?

In simple terms a pass allows you unlimited train journeys on a single travel day  paying only for any required reservations.

There are 2 types

A continuous pass where every day of its validity  is a travel day eg 15 days.

A flex passallows you to nominate any X days in the validity period as travel days eg 4 in a month.

Only you can work out the value depending on your itinerary.

There is plenty of advice in both the interrail website and the posts in the community

So this pass if my vacay is 8 total days I can pick 4 travel days and get unlimited train trips on the speed train from Paris to bern with all the connections? I just will have to pay for each time we use METRO trains correct?
