Do l need an ACTIVE MOBILE PASS to buy reservations using the Rail Planner ?

does the booked reservation need to be saved / added to the Pass/Dayticket/travel Day….on boarding the train ?

No need to have an active pass. Reservations cannot be booked through Rail Planner, it only redirects you elsewhere.

Reservations are best done elsewhere than on eurail.com (2€ booking fee per person per train). Have a look at : https://www.seat61.com/interrail-and-eurail-reservations.htm

Reservations and pass are completely separate. You add any train you’d like to take to the app before boarding. This can be done at any point and gives you a QR-code (your ticket).

On trains requiring seat reservations : you show both the app and the PDF (seat reservation).

Let us know for questions, mentioning route, date and departure time.
