Question about eligibility for Interrail Pass, Erasmus discount, and 2-month pass usage

Hi everyone,

I’m a Korean student currently living in Switzerland as an exchange student from the fall semester of 2025 to the spring semester of 2026.
I already have a valid Swiss residence permit and visa, both valid until July 31, 2026.

I’m currently participating in an Erasmus exchange program and also have an ESN card.
I was wondering if I’m eligible to buy the Interrail Pass (instead of the Eurail Pass) and use the Erasmus discount.

If I’m eligible, I’m planning to buy the 2-month Interrail Global Pass, and I’d like to confirm whether it works the same way as the Eurail Pass — that is, whether I can travel freely within the covered countries for two months.

If you but an Interrail pass with Switzerland as the country of residence, you can only travel on a maximum of 3 travel days in Switzerland. If you buy a Eurail pass you can travel unlimited in Switzerland.

Also, Swiss Conductors are often quite strict. According to the rules you have to use the In-/Outbound Journey to travel from/to a border/port/airport to your place. When I use my Outbound Day starting from my place, I always already put a border crossing trip to my pass, even if I don’t know exactly with which train I leave the country.
