Rail Pass Duration. If I activate it now, will the 15 day start?

I recently purchased a 15 day rail pass, but don’t plan to use it for another month. If I activate it now to start adding train times and such to my trip, will the 15 day duration start, or not until I scan my ticket for the first time?

You don't need to activate the pass to make reservations or to start using My Trip.
