Railplanner notifications about inactive or unused pass

I have a Global Pass with a fully planned trip in the Railplanner app on my smartphone. I acquired it on 30/03/2025. The trip starts 13/09/2025.

I get notifications in the Railplanner that I have to start planning a trip to keep my Pass active. They came in various shapes. Today I got one saying “Tomorrow is a travel day, but you haven’t added any journeys to your Pass yet.”

In the app, I can see the Trip with all the travel days and journeys with all the train information; for each leg, I can see the check-box colored yellow and in the rightmost position. It seems like an Interrail central database is not aware of the information in my Railplanner app.

When I login to my account on the interrail website, I can see my pass but no trip. I could recreate it there but I don’t want to do that because it is not clear to me if and how the data there is synchronized with the data in my smartphone Railplanner app.

Interrail seems to be aware that I will be traveling on 14/09/2025 but it does not seem to know more about it and considers it a problem.

Is this situation going to become a problem while traveling?

Can I share my trip with myself (import it into my online account from my Interrail app)?

There is no synchronisation between the website and the app, other than the start date of your pass.

I don't see any problem. You can ignore any notifications, as long as you activate your pass and add your trains to your pass before you board a train. It is not a good idea to activate your pass or any travel days in advance.

I'm not sure if you can import the trip on the website but I don't see any use for it either. Reservations are best booked elsewhere, see:

Thank you for the prompt answer.

You should never activate a journey until just before boarding the train, and you shouldn't activate the pass in advance either. So I recommend that you deactivate the journeys and the pass immediately.

You get a warning, as you obviously have activated the pass from the 13th if September, but have your first journey on the 14th of September.

@AnnaB: “ You get a warning, as you obviously have activated the pass from the 13th if September, but have your first journey on the 14th of September. ” I am sorry but that was a typo, the trip starts at the 13th of September. Correction: “Interrail seems to be aware that I will be traveling on 13/09/2025 but it does not seem to know more about it and considers it a problem.”
