I am a New Zealander with a Eurail pass and my travelling companion is Danish with an interail pass.

i am trying to reserve seats for us both on trains in  France, Spain and Portugal but finding it very difficult.

can someone please give me step by step instructions so that we are both booked on the same train and seated together.

thanks so much in advance!

To be seats together, you need to book reservations in one transaction.

In general, check this page for where and how to book reservations:

https://www.seat61.com/interrail-and-eurail-reservations.htm

Seat reservations in Portugal can only be booked at a ticket office in Portugal.

For France, you can use www.raileurope.com. It lets you choose between Interrail and Eurail, but in reality it's the same reservation, so just pick one.

For domestic reservations in Spain, here a list of known ways to book:

You might find it easier just to book all your Spanish reservations once you get to a ticket office where they can.

If you need more help, then pleas mention route, date and departure time of the train(s) you're trying to book.
