Seat reservation and journey planning

Hi, everyone!

I’m about to leave for Austria for a 6-day vacation and since I want to make sure to do everything right I was wondering: if all the trains I have to take have the green “reservation is not needed” label does that mean that the order confirmation is proof enough for the conductor? Or am I missing something? I don’t seem to be able to find any bar code or similar.

Thanks!

Your booking confirmation is absolutely not good enough. Assuming you’ve bought a mobile pass, you need to download the app and activate your pass. This involves telling the app which trains you’ll be taking.

That’s what generates the QR code that is your ticket.

Hello @Alepremo98

Your pass will be your ticket, it means that you must use the Rail Planner app to generate QR codes, unless you have a pass on security paper.

Thank you both, @Danhiel and @ralderton, unfortunately I cannot install the iOS required to download the app on my iPhone, which means I can only generate the codes with my laptop. Is there a way to do that via computer too?
Thanks.

Okay, I get it, now: I can generate the QR code only through the app, which I can’t download because of the iOS being too advanced. So: is there a way to generate that same QR code on laptop? Or maybe I could downoad the app on someone else’s phone and take a screenshot of the code.

Thanks.

Unfortunately not.

It only works through the app. If you can't run the app, you won't be able to use a mobile pass. A screenshot isn't valid - it has to be in the app itself.

Is there any way you can borrow a suitable Android or iPhone for your trip?

Or buy one?.

Your alternative is to refund your pass and buy a paper pass. But if you're leaving soon, there might not be time to wait for delivery.
