Seat Reservation for Train Travel in Spain with Eurail Pass

I’m planning to do the following train trips in Spain and would like to clarify the seat reservation process:

1. Seville to Granada (day trip)

2. Seville to Malaga (day trip)

3. Seville to Madrid

• Do I need to reserve seats for all these routes?

• Can I make the seat reservations through an app, or do I have to go to the train station to reserve them?

• Are these specific routes mandatory for seat reservations when using the Eurail Pass?

Thank you!

1) Yes reservations are required on all these trains. In Spain all trains have mandatory trains, except Cercanias suburban trains basically.

2) If ticket sales have started on the RENFE website, passholder reservations should all be available on eurail.com (2€ fee per passenger per train) or happyrail.com (lower fee afaik).

You could get them at the station as well but there's a bigger fee and long queues.

Unfortunately, happyrail.com recently introduced a €2.50 booking fee per person and train.

In Spain, there's a 5.5% booking fee for AVE.
