Sharing travel plan - ''Not connected to a mobile Pass''

A friend has shared with me his travel plan but in the application it says "Not connected to a mobile Pass". When I click edit it only lets me select the option "Connect a Pass to this trip" I only have the option "Paper Pass" available.

How can i fix this?

I have no idea, but if you post some screen shots hopefully there is someone else who can help you.
