Hi all. I’m trying to calculate if it’s worth using my Interrail pass on a trip from Buchs SG (Switzerland) to Milano (Italy), or just paying for a ticket. I go to the SBB.CH website and enter the details, and it shows me the departures, and some of them have a little black “% from CHF 44” sign on them. I understand this means a super-saver price, but every journey I choose, and for any date I’ve tried (including 1 or 2 months in advance), the lowest price shown is 50-75% higher than the super-saver price initially displayed. Am I doing something wrong? Or are these fares only available for 1 or 2 seats on each train, and always booked weeks in advance? Thanks.

Maybe you had the search on the sbb site set to showing the price with “Halbtax”. As that is selected by default.

Ah yes, I’m an idiot LOL! Thanks.  (Although it’s a bit weird to have the half-price discount selected by default!)
