I followed the advice of AnnaB: It can be wise to make a test just to see that everything works etc. So I connected my pass to the app. and activated the pass with a date well in the future, in this case 9 Apr 2023 and immediately deactivated it. It seems OK, however if I look in “my Pass” I see “activate this Pass by 9 Apr 2023”. Is this correct or usual info? As first-time-user of mobile pass I can still activate my pass on an earlier date? 

Hello, yes that's normal April 9th in this case is the latest possible date by which you can start using your pass. You can use this pas earlier, just by setting the date in the activation process - hope that helps :)
