Tickets for Avanti West Coast Trains.

I have reserved seats for my journey on an Avanti West Coast train through the ACP Rail website, but there wasn't a booking reference space where I could enter my pass number?

Does anyone know how you can claim the train tickets for the journey (if needed), or do you simply show your eurail pass when asked for your ticket, when on the train?

If you have a pass, then that is your ticket.

You should have received an e-mail confirmation from ACP with reservation details. If not, then ask them.

For future reservations, juist ignore ACP Rail. Seat reservations in GB are free of charge and ACP Rail charge for them. You can book via LNER (only their own trains) and GWR (any reservable train in GB). See this page for instructions:

The ticket inspector doesn’t need to see your reservations, because they’re not compulsory on any UK domestic day train (despite what Rail Planner may say!). The only time you’ll need to show them is if you find somebody in your seat, and need to persuade them that you have reserved it.

Just add your train to the pass, and show the Interrail QR code to the ticket inspector. (Tip: this QR code won’t work at the automated barriers at UK stations - show it to gate staff instead)

As @rvdborgt says, you don't need to ever pay for UK reservations. Get them for free online, or at a ticket office.

Thank you very much rvdborgt. Your answer has confirmed what I was thinking and put my mind at rest. I did try LNER but couldn’t book for Avanti train. Thanks for the link and GWR suggestion, these are new information to me.

Happy Travels, Ian

Thanks ralderton, I’m new to eurail pass (first time use). Good information about Rail Planner and getting through the barriers at the station.

Many Thanks, Ian

If you have a pass, then that is your ticket. You don't need to buy any other tickets for trains included in the pass.
