I have the following problem: I am staying in Malta for four months for an internship and we are traveling by train to Oslo on business. We are also traveling through Germany, where I actually live. There we arrive by train in Munich. From Munich we travel to Hamburg and from Hamburg to Copenhagen. Is this a problem, as I only have one journey from Germany, i.e. my country of residence? Or do only the travel days count?

Only the travel days count. You can use 2 of your travel days in your country of residence.
If you can prove you live in Malta, then you can also use that as your country of residence.
Falls mann NICHT im Land der ID/perso wohnt, dann muss mann mit Offizielle Dokumente zeigen koennen das mann im andere Land lebt und eingeschrieben worden ist etc. Meist geht das innerhalb EU erst nach 6 MOnate-aber bestimmt weisst du selber genauer wie das dort aufm Insel geht.
In DE kann mann ja noch bis 31/8 sehr günstig mit 9€ monatsticket im Nahkverkehr verreisen. Dauert bloss laenger und viele Zuege sind Gross-verspeatet wegen Grossandrang
Bleibt dann DE doch Ihr Wohnland-dann hat mann mit Mobile Pass 2 tage um dort reisen zu koennen-auf alte Stil Papier eigentlich/meist nur 2 Reisen bis/ab Grenze. Und bestimmt kennste DB-Schaffnern und weiss wie mann im allgemeinen hier Im einzige Land mit immer noch Masken sehr gerne Prinzipienreiterei und Regelnachlebung handhabt!
