The app counts in travel days, not in journeys or trains. On a travel day, you can board as many trains as you like.

Just to confirm, a travel day runs from 0000 to 2359 Central European Time. You can board as many trains as you like scheduled to depart during that time, even if you leave the last one after 2359 that day.
