Traveling with family

I will be traveling with my wife and two children this Summer.  What is the best way to handle tickets/passes?  I have the Rail Planner app on my phone and passes for each person.  It seems like I need to create one trip per pass? Also, is a “trip” one train ride or can the entire three week visit be a “trip”?

Thank you.

Every pass needs to have its own trip and can be connected to only one trip, which means that this trip will eventually contain all journeys you make with the pass during its validity period.

The free pass of a child needs to be on the same phone as the pass of a paying adult.

I'd keep the other passes on separate phones, so you can travel independently if needed.

Ok, thank you for the clarification.  A “trip” can contain many “journeys”.

It really would be nice if you could add multiple passes to a single “trip”, but I’ll survive :)

You can add a journey to multiple trips at the same time.
