I don’t understand your question. You can check the timetables and the validity of the pass before you buy it. Or could you give us an example of this situation?

I’m sorry, since I don’t know how it works it might seem to me more complicated than it actually is. 
I only wonder if it might happen that you see a bunch of connections, among which high speed and night sleeper trains , but your pass is only valid for traditional trains and therefore you will need to add an extra price if you want to use the fastest or more comfortable ones… it might make sense, but where do I find information about such specific issues?

in general I think could all go under the title “ limitations to the use of the pass “

The Seat61 website a really good overview of how the pass works here. And details of exactly which trains are included, and where reservations are needed here.

If you do a search on the Interrail timetable, it will show you in the search results whether a train is included or not, and whether you need a reservation. In general, we don’t recommend using the Interrail timetable, because it’s often out of date - always check on bahn.com or with the train operator - but it’s a good way to check for valid trains.
