Using ticket in country of origin

Is it possible to travel back to one's home country in the middle of an interrail month and then use the ticket for example a few days later to make another trip - international or national?

You can use 2 of your travel days in your country of residence. You can do that at any time during the validity of your pass. For any more travel days in your country of residence, you'll need to buy extra tickets until/from the border tariff point or use another means of transport.

The outbound/inbound rule says that you only can travel on a maximum 2 days in your country of residence. For all other travels in your home country you need to buy a normal ticket. In all other countries in the Interrail offer you can travel as much as you like.

You can use the outbound and inbound travel day at any time during the valid of your pass.
