Hello,

My family have an Interrail Global Pass valid 7 days for 1 month. We live in France

We have activated all of passes on my mobile travel start date 21:10/2025

We start travelling tomorrow 21 October 2025

 - 9:41 TER Nice St Augustin - Ventimiglia (no reservation required) 

  • 10:59 Ventimiglia - Milano Centrale (reservation required)
  • 19:13 Milano P. garibaldi - Vienne (nightjet reservation required)

Return 30/10/2025 19:18 Vienne - Milano P Garibaldi (nightjet reservation required)

We have bought tickets through the Rail Planner for the trains where a reservation is required but BEFORE we created the trip on the mobile pass. We have tickets that we will print. I have now created a Trip and added these journeys. What do we do now? There’s a little sliding button showing next to each journey. Do we need to activate that to get the QR code for travel?

The toggle switch next to each journey will activate that journey and add it to the pass. Activating the first journey of the day will activate a travel day.

You need to activate a journey before you board a train. However, it's not a good idea to activate in advance, since past midnight, when validity has started, you can't cancel activation anymore.

For any further reservations, the best is to ignore the Interrail website (which is the default place the Rail Planner app sends you to), and to follow the advice on this page:

Booking via Interrail is almost always more expensive than elsewhere because of the added booking fees.

Also keep in mind that the pass is your ticket, and that you need reservations (not: tickets) for some trains.
